    The Business Development Manager is an ambitious and energetic individual that will help expand Angel MedFlight’s patient reach with hospitals around the country. The Business Development Manager is part of a team that acts as the face of the company. The primary role of the Business Development Manager is to foster new and existing hospital relationships by networking, completing onsite visits, and maintaining brand awareness through Customer Relationship Management (CRM) practices, strategies and technologies that Angel MedFlight utilizes to manage and analyze customer interactions and data throughout the customer lifecycle, with the goal of improving sales growth and business relationships with healthcare facilities.

    The Business Development Manager must develop a rapport with new clients, and set targets for sales and provide support that will continually improve the relationship. They are also required to grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to clients. Business Development Managers work with mid and senior level management, marketing, and technical staff.

    Individual must be achievement oriented and highly fixated on reaching objectives while continuously measuring performance against stated goals. Persistency, resiliency, and impeccable follow-up are key.

    Strategic planning is a key part of the business development role, since it is the business manager’s responsibility to foster the pipeline of new business coming into the company. This requires a basic knowledge of the healthcare market. This role requires 50 to 75 percent travel.

  • Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Understand the company’s goals and purpose so that will continual to enhance the company’s performance.
  • Analyze effectiveness of business development efforts.
  • Assist in the management of overall business development strategies.
  • Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the team.
  • Tactics and Execution
  • Research and prospect for potential new clients, turning this into increased business
  • Cold call as appropriate within your market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients and key decision makers at healthcare facilities.
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Prepare sales contracts ensuring adherence to existing Angel MedFlight established rules and guidelines.
  • Submit weekly progress reports and ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM or other sales management system.
  • Analyze and report findings for effectiveness of business development campaigns.
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Schedule conferences and meetings, and assist in special event planning.
  • Coordinate business development function and exhibiting at seminars and trade shows across the country.
  • Travel to facilities and conferences for up to a week at a time.
  • SKILLS: Excellent networking and presentation skills, understands the importance of building relationships.

Educational Requirements:


  • Education: Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school
  • Experience: Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role
  • Travel: 50 to 75 percent travel required
  • PREFERRED: Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in business administration, sales or relevant field
  • Experience: 3+ years of business development experience, Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce), Healthcare market knowledge, Communication and negotiation skills, Time management and planning skills
